Non-Dairy Products

Non-Dairy foods are indicated for people who are allergic to dairy products. Many individuals are allergic to lactose or "Milk Sugar” found in most dairy products. A common condition called “lactose Intolerance” is found in persons that lack an enzyme called “ lactase” which breaks down the lactose in our bodies. Lactose Intolerance causes gastric symptoms primarily.

A person with this problem usually is on a Non-Dairy or Lactose free diet. The human body requires Calcium for bone development and strength. Those who lack the source of calcium in the diet must get it from alternate sources. Some Non-Dairy foods that are high in calcium are:
